Juneteenth became a federal holiday in 2021 and is on the Federal Reserve calendar, so banks close. Observance was uneven in the first year or two, but by now closure is the rule, not the exception.

When June 19 falls on a Saturday, the Fed doesn't shift the holiday — banks are open that Friday, and Saturday-hours branches close on the day itself. When it falls on a Sunday, banks close the following Monday.
