Is the DMV open today in Maryland?

In Maryland, driver licensing is handled by the Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration (MDOT MVA). Its offices close on the state's holiday schedule below — and on weekends. If today isn't one of those, offices run normal business hours.

Branch offices stay open the Friday after Thanksgiving. Only Thanksgiving Day itself is closed.

Maryland calls the October holiday Indigenous Peoples' Day, and branches and VEIP stations close that Monday.

Dates come from the MVA's own holidays and closings page; several holidays also close branches on the nearby Saturday, so check before a weekend visit.
