Is the DMV open today in New Hampshire?

In New Hampshire, driver licensing is handled by the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Its offices close on the state's holiday schedule below — and on weekends. If today isn't one of those, offices run normal business hours.

The DMV links straight to the state's 2026 holiday memo from the Division of Personnel, which lists the ten days offices close.

That memo says state offices stay open on Juneteenth, June 19, and on Columbus Day, October 12.

July 4 falls on a Saturday in 2026, so the day off is Friday, July 3. New Hampshire DMV service is fully appointment based, so book online or call first.
