Is the DMV open today in Nevada?

In Nevada, driver licensing is handled by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Its offices close on the state's holiday schedule below — and on weekends. If today isn't one of those, offices run normal business hours.

Dates come from Nevada's holiday law, NRS 236.015, which requires state offices to close on the days it lists.

Nevada calls the Friday after Thanksgiving Family Day and closes for it, so offices are shut November 26 and 27. There is no Columbus Day closing.

July 4 falls on a Saturday in 2026, so offices close Friday, July 3. Nevada DMV offices now serve customers by appointment, so book before you go.
