Is the DMV open today in Pennsylvania?

In Pennsylvania, driver licensing is handled by the PennDOT Driver and Vehicle Services. Its offices close on the state's holiday schedule below — and on weekends. If today isn't one of those, offices run normal business hours.

Driver license and photo centers close the Saturday before every Monday holiday, so January 17, February 14, May 23, September 5, and October 10 are closed too.

For Independence Day, the Harrisburg Riverfront Office Center and the Pittsburgh Driver License Center close Friday July 3, while every other center closes Saturday July 4.

Dates come from PennDOT's own holiday closings page for Driver and Vehicle Services.

Checked against the PennDOT Driver and Vehicle Services and the state's published holiday schedule, verified August 2026. When a schedule for a new year has not been published yet, this page says so — it never guesses.
