Is the stock market open on Veterans Day?

November 11 is a federal holiday, but it isn't on the NYSE holiday calendar, so NYSE and Nasdaq trade a full 9:30am–4pm ET session. Most banks are closed and federal offices are dark, which makes it one of the most-asked days on the whole calendar.

The bond market is closed on SIFMA's recommendation — the same split that shows up on Columbus Day, and the only two days a year when bonds take a holiday and stocks don't.
