CVS sets holiday hours store by store, and the split between the front store and the pharmacy counter is the fact that matters. On the big holidays — Thanksgiving and Christmas — many front stores open on reduced hours while many others close, and pharmacies close far more often than the stores around them. Locations open 24 hours are the steadiest exception.
On the smaller holidays, most CVS stores simply run normal hours, with the pharmacy the only part of the store that might take the day.
