Easter is the quietest shopping-and-services day of spring, but almost none of it is Easter's doing on paper: the holiday always falls on a Sunday, so banks, the markets, mail delivery, and federal offices are dark for the same reason they are every Sunday. Easter isn't a federal holiday, and Monday runs on a completely normal schedule.

Easter always falls on a Sunday — Western churches set it as the first Sunday after the first full moon on or after the spring equinox, so the date moves between late March and late April.
