Walmart's stores close for two days a year: Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Thanksgiving closure has held every year since 2020, confirmed each fall, and Christmas Day has been a closure for decades. Beyond those two, Walmart is the open-by-default giant — Easter, July 4, New Year's Day and the rest are ordinary shopping days.
The edges: Christmas Eve runs on shortened hours, and New Year's Eve stays close to normal. Pharmacy and vision-center hours inside the store follow their own, shorter holiday clocks.
